Problems Hard Drives Can Face and Their Solutions
Every problem comes with a solution. All you need to do is to put your efforts into finding the solution.
There are several problems that a hard drive goes through and disturb you mentally. Luckily, there are ways to solve all the issues. Anyhow, before choosing the way to fix the problem, don’t forget to check the nature of the problem, else the data recovery difficulty may worsen.
The following is the list of three common problems that hard drive can face along with the solutions:
Problem: Files on your system can corrupt if you don’t shut down the computer properly, use a virus or malware infected program, power surges, or the program gets closed accidentally while it is running. Corrupted files not only lead to data loss but also prevent you from accessing certain parts of your data and computer entirely.
Solution: Corrupted files in the hard drive can be repaired in the Command Prompt Window of your system. To do this, follow the below-given steps:
- Click the start button and then type cmd.
- Then enter the code chkdsk g:/f in the black window that popped up.
- Press Enter.
If it doesn’t work, then seek the help of HDD data recovery experts.
Problem: If the fan of your system is not working well, then it simply means that your system is not ventilated properly and can overheat easily. Overheating can damage the hard drive and other internal parts of your system. Further, another reason for overheating can be an internal clicking noise.
Solution: You can either get your fan repaired or to seal the gaps around the CPU fan, you can make use of a thermal paste. It will help to ensure that the fan runs efficiently, and all other parts of the system are getting proper ventilation.
Remember, the fan is important for your computer, so if needed, get it replaced.
Problem: Don’t open any link or download any file until and unless you are sure about the source. Otherwise, your system may get infected by the virus. Symptoms of virus presence include strange pop-ups, digital lags, glitches, or total shut down of the system.
Solution: Install anti-virus and anti-malware software in your computer. Also, use firewalls and adblockers to prevent unwanted popups. This will also block infected and fishing sites from accessing your computer.
Moreover, stay aware and don’t download anything from untrusted sites. Be very particular with your searches and open the links only you are familiar with. This can protect your system from being infected by any malware.
Whatever the case is, it is highly recommended to have a backup of the latest data. This way, you will never lose crucial data and will be prevented from unwanted stress.
